The Coochie Markets are a long-running and widely enjoyed community tradition on the island; both old and new stallholders are always welcome!
2026 Market dates:
Monday 26th January - Australia Day Markets
Saturday 4th April - Easter Markets
Saturday 18th July - Flinders' Day Markets
Saturday 19th September - Pirate Island Markets
Saturday 28th November - Christmas Markets
On market days, the vehicle access gate is opened from 7am to 8am and the markets are open to visitors from 9am to 1pm. Vehicle access is available from 1pm and the markets should be vacated by 2pm.
Powered sites are available as required. Food vendors need to hold a food licence issued by Redland City Council.
A site costs $20 for the day and equipment can be collected from the Progress trailer onsite. Hiring a 3m x 3m gazebo costs $10, a table is $5 and chairs are $3 each. Payment is done by card or cash on the day of the market. Stallholders are responsible for returning equipment to the Progress trailer at close of business.
Our standard site fees are waived for non-profit island organisations which are members of Coochie Progress and for vendors who travel to the market by barge. Please indicate in your booking if you fall into either of these categories. Vendors planning to travel by barge should contact Amity Trader as early as possible to ensure they have a barge booking.
To make a booking, email Emily at markets@coochieprogress.org and specify your site, power and equipment hire needs, the purpose of your stall and your contact information. You will be provided with a site map indicating the location of your booking.
Please contact Emily for any further questions
In the best interest of the market and as a courtesy to fellow traders, early departures will not be permitted. Marquees are to remain erected until close of market trade. In the event of a ‘sell out’, stallholders are to display a sign indicating that their goods are ‘sold out’ and marquees are to remain standing. No vehicle movement is permitted within the market precinct during market trade hours.
It is an offence punishable by law to sell stolen, counterfeit or any merchandise that may infringe on any copyright, trademark or design. The sale of illegal or controlled goods is not allowed.
Coochiemudlo Island Progress Association Public Liability does not cover stallholders or their products. It is the responsibility of all stallholders to ensure that that their stall area remains clean and safe to the public at all times and to ensure that their product meets statutory health requirements and in no way poses any health risks to the consumer.
It is the stallholder's obligation to ensure that all Council and Government guidelines and health regulations are met, that all appropriate licenses are obtained and that the setup of the stall meets all Council, health and safety requirements.
Please ensure that your site is well presented, tidy and safe at all times. Tablecloths are to be used and signage promoting your stall and/or products is highly recommended. Signs erected must not impede pedestrian flows, must not display any offensive material and must be clean and presentable.
